Games to Liven Up Your Adult Purim Party. When party guests come from disparate social groups, sometimes the party can get awkward with huddles of people feeling trapped by their small circle yet unable to break out in order to meet new people. An organized game can change that awkward dynamic. So, if you are organizing your temple’s Purim ball or just having ball of your own with the different groups you know, consider these fun ways to help your guests break the ice and enjoy the party to the fullest. Mask Making Station. Crafts aren’t just for the kiddies. When minus their miniature minions, many adults love to create and masks make a great Purim themed activity. Mask blanks and all the supplies can be found at any good craft store, making this activity a one store stop. Photo Booth. All you need is a fun backdrop and a camera on a tripod and watch your guests take turns mugging at the camera. For added hilarity have a box with props (hats, scarfs, etc.) nearby. The resulting photos make a memento that you can send out after the party. Costume Contest. Pass out voting cards for various contest categories and provide a voting box to place them in. Choose some nice gifts for the winners of each category and announce the results before everyone gets too drunk tired. Tattoo Station. Provide tons of temporary tattoos, water, sponge, and a mirror at a station. Since the party is for adults, they don’t have to be Batman themed! Megillah Pub Quiz. Whether you are having an actual kids Purim party or just want your Purim seudah to go smoothly, having some kids games on hand makes things a lot more fun. Learn about Rosh Hashanah with Rebbetzin Tap. Why do we dip apples in honey? Why do we blow the shofar? For a Rosh Hashanah snack, I take a very large apple, remove the core and fill it with honey. The children dip apple slices as we wish each other a sweet year. Minnie Mouse Party Supplies for Theme Parties including invitations, centerpieces and paper goods. 10 Purim party game ideas that will liven up your Purim party. This one takes a bit of preparation but it is a good one for the intellectual set. Prepare a quiz for teams of guests to participate in on the topic of Purim, The Esther Scroll and/or Jewish culture. You can MC this activity or just hand out the quiz and collect in a box. Make sure guests know there are prizes to ensure the right amount of competition and secrecy. The Word Game. I love this one. Have a jar plastic necklaces, brooches or other wearable thing at the door when guests arrive along with the “stop” word in mind (“purim” is a good one). The stop word is forbidden from being spoken. When each guest arrives, give them a piece of jewelry and tell them the “stop” word. If a guest says the stop word, they have to surrender their necklace to another guest. Guests should try and coax the stop words from others in order to collect the most. Send free online invitation cards and party invites on holidays & special occasions: Birthdays, Weddings, Anniversary, Baby Shower, Dinner, Graduation, Christmas and.Forehead Detective. This is an impromptu game that just requires some stickers (don’t use Post- its) and a pen. Have one person write a name on the sticker and put it on someone else’s forehead. The person with the sticker then as to ask yes/no questions of the other guests to see if they can determine who is the name on their forehead. Blind Man’s Bluff. The classic party game sure to bring people together. Blind- fold one of the guests, spin them around three times while the other guests stand clear. The blindfolded person then has to find another person and guess who they are by touch only…no speaking! Play only if your party isn’t a costume party. Who Am I? Like Forehead Detective but a little less silly. Ahead of the party, prepare stickers with famous people’s names on them (one for each guest). Then, when guests arrive, place one of the stickers on their back. The guest then has to ask other guests yes/no questions about the person on their back in order to guess who it is. Likes & Dislikes. Hand out a card to each guest when they arrive which allows them to write down a list of five things they like and dislike. Provide a voting box for collection. An MC reads each one out in turn. Anyone who guesses correctly who is described by the list wins a prize.– –L’Chaim! Creative Commons Attribution 3.
